Smart Design Mart

Some small original pieces I’ve prepared for the Smart Design Mart, an Artisan Fair which takes place in Montréal at 160 rue St-Viateur est, 2nd Floor :
Friday, December 2, 5PM-9PM
Saturday, December 3, 11AM-6PM
Sunday, December 4, 12PM-5PM

“Set in the industrial setting of a 20 000 square foot garment industry loft (now empty) each designer and artist has been hand picked by the smart design mart curators and has been asked to create a mini boutique within the space. Aisles will be roomy, food and drink will be served and music will be drifting, creating the perfect exciting yet comfortable shopping event. Montreal’s own EN MASSE art collective has been invited to create a live art installation, giving shoppers a moment to recharge, have a drink and enjoy the art.”

There’re still many things to prepare and anticipate, a bit stressful (my first Artisan Fair) ; but I’m glad to participate this year, I’m confident that it’ll be a great experience :)
And I can finally announce that I launch my new online Shop next week !

MIGS

Thanks to Joel Dos Reis Viegas who invited me to participate in the Sketch Duel at MIGS, hosted by the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel (November 2, Exhibition Zone : 12:15 - 1:30 pm). 8 artists from the video games industry will have 15 minutes to create a sketch on a subject which will be unveiled at the last minute. It’ll be for a while that I’ve not done speed painting :)

“The Montreal International Game Summit will be held at the Hilton Bonaventure Hotel on November 1 and 2, 2011. Alliance Numérique organizes MIGS as part of MTL DGTL. Sessions are delivered by renowned experts in Business, Arts and VFX, Design, Production and Technology. A Business Lounge, an Exhibition Zone, a Career Fair, an Art Gallery and several other social activities complete our programming and make it the biggest event dedicated to professionals in Canada and on the East Coast”. Dernières neiges, le temps est presque bon mais humide ; les petites choses tombent malades comme tout le monde… laissent tristement couler l’hiver entre leurs doigts, perdent leurs derniers nerfs sains dans les violences du travail… Se tiennent comme des robots, déjà bien rouillés, faussement concernés par cette musique embourbée de plaintes répétitives ; Se tiennent, pour ne pas prendre la porte à la canicule prochaine.

Henge

I’ve participated in the Henge project last Saturday (organized by En Masse, hosted in the Complexe Desjardins), during the Nuit Blanche à Montréal ; 8 huge white blocs covered by ~ 45 artists.
“These incredible works are still up, although re-located to the Cité Internationale for the next two weeks. Go check these guys out at 629 St Antoine W”. More info & pictures in the EN MASSE’s blog.
